The proposal calls on labor unions to unite with community organizations to create local fight-back committees nation-wide capable of advancing the working-class struggle.
The network will &amp;ldquo;promote and support the strike actions around our demands, such as the strike by ILWU Local 10 on April 4, 2011, in solidarity with the struggle waged by Wisconsin unions and their community supporters.&amp;rdquo;
As did the Charleston Five just 11 years ago, International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 10 demonstrated the power of international solidarity. ILWU Local 10&amp;rsquo;s Executive Board member Clarence Thomas thunderously relays:

Wisconsin's involvement with the Special Olympics goes all the way back to 1969 and, according to Wisconsin Special Olympics President Dennis Alldridge, Wisconsinites not only get involved in the state, but also have a reputation for volunteering at Special Olympics events around the country.
Both Gov. Scott Walker and Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen were on hand for the opening with each having a solid history of supporting the event. Nearly every year Milwaukee County Executive Walker carried the torch for a leg. Van Hollen has been involved with the Special Olympics since he took office and is Honorary Chair of the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
