Economic Report: Kansas City Fed President Predicts Economic Contraction Through First Half Of '09 - 01/09/09

The President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City had a stormy outlook for the economy during a speech on Wednesday. Fed President Thomas Hoeing said he doesn’t expect to see any signs of recovery in the economy until the third quarter at the earliest. Hoeing said “we will see negative growth through the first half of the year.” Hoeing endorsed the implementation of a fiscal stimulus plan to help bring the economy back from recession.
