With the worldwide need for steel at a low, another steel company has announced layoff plays. Ohio-based AK Steel will be cutting salaried positions at plants and offices to help cope with a loss in revenue due to the world wide recession. The announcement follows an announcement in December that AK would cut the pay of salaried employees by 5 percent. The company has roughly 1,500 salaried employees.
