Boeing is cutting 4,500 jobs with most of those coming from the Pacific Northwest. The lay off notices will be sent to workers starting in late February and will continue throughout the second quarter of the year. The job cuts amount to 6.6 percent of the company’s worldwide workforce. Boeing employs more than 160,000 workers and is the second largest defense contractor in the United States.
