Economic Report: U.S. Lost 2.6 Million Jobs in 2008

The U.S. lost more jobs in 2008 than it has in more than 60 years. Two point six million jobs were cut last year with the unemployment rate leaping to 7.2 percent in December. According to the Labor Department more than 11 million are now unemployed in the United States.
