During a press conference on July 25, 2005 at 4 p.m. Teamsters President James P. Hoffa announced his union would be disaffiliating from the AFL-CIO. During the conference Hoffa outlined some of the differences between the two organizations and expressed an openness to continue working with AFL affiliated labor organizations.
