In a move aimed at cutting costs and saving the environment, New York Governor David Paterson signed an executive order that will stop state agencies from stocking bottled water for employees. Employees will be encouraged to drink tap water. Paterson said during a press conference that taxpayers have spent billions to ensure New York State has clean drinking water. According to the Governor’s office plastic water bottles account for 17 million of barrels of oil each year.
