It was a sea of green in Dover, Delaware on Wednesday as state workers represented by the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees gathered to protest Governor Jack Merkell’s proposed 8 percent pay cut. Delaware is facing a budget gap of $780 million, a portion of which the Governor had hoped to make up by allowing sports betting in the state. That motion was blocked on Tuesday by the legislature. Delaware state workers haven’t seen a raise in three years.
