Can you depend on public health workers to show up for work if there is a pandemic flu emergency? A new survey by John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that one in six public health care workers will not show up for work. That is a significant change from the previous study in 2005 when 40 percent of public health workers said they were likely to report to work. According to the study’s authors one’s belied in the importance of their work was the determining factor toward if they would report during an emergency. |
