Workers about to have unemployment benefits cut may see another extension of the benefits. The Senate has overcome obstruction by Republicans to clear the way for a vote on the extension. If passed by Congress the extension would last for 14 more weeks for jobless workers in all states. For workers in states hit the hardest the unemployment benefits extension would be for 20 weeks. Congress is expected to act on the unemployment benefit extensions this week.
