More layoffs for state workers in the Keystone State. Jesse Russell reports.

Grim news in the state of Pennsylvania as the holiday season approaches. Governor Ed Rendell’s administration announced this week that an additional 319 employees would need to be let go. That brings the total number of state workers out of a job to 769. The majority of cuts will come from the Department of Environmental Protection which will lose 138 workers. Some historical sites could take a hit as the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission loses 25 percent of its workforce. Exhibit spending will be eliminated in that department and some historic buildings will be closed. Services at six historic sites will be suspended.
