CT State Police Lt. Expects Favorable State Supreme Ruling, Says Collective Bargaining Rights Denial Is Political – 02/12/10Submitted by Doug Cunningham on February 11, 2010 - 5:41pm
By Doug Cunningham After Thursday's Connecticut Supreme Court hearing on collective bargaining rights for State Police Captains and Lieutenants, Lt. Edward Gould said they don't like having their union rights denied since 2006. [Lt. Edward Gould]: “It does not sit well with many of members. And quite frankly, we think this is just a political statement that somebody is trying to make--that they simply don’t want us to have the right to organize. We’re lookin’ forward to the supreme court backing us and ruling in our favor and ordering the state to come to the bargaining table and to sit down and agree on a collective bargaining agreement. That’s what we’re really lookin’ forward to.” |
