That was Chris Kofinis of the WakeUp Walmart campaign commenting on the Health Care Security Act that passed the New York City Council with broad support Wednesday. The bill is intended to establish a healthcare minimum wage that will hold accountavle companies that don't provide adequate healthcare for their employees. The bill was supported by some New York City businesses including grocery chains Pathmark and Stop and Shop. Kofinis says passage of the bill sends a clear message to companies.
