The SEIU is in the midst of a major organizing campaign to represent thousands of condominium workers employed by Continental Group in Miami. Rob Schuler, President and Organizing Director of SEIU Local 11, says Continental is running an aggressive anti-union campaign trying to intimidate workers into rejecting the union.

[Rob Schuler 1]: "They've reacted by, you know, in typical fashion. By firin' people, threatening people, intimidating, transferring them, finding excuses to get rid of 'em."

Schuler says this Florida organizing drive is part of a national SEIU strategy to expand into southern and western states like Texas. He says these Florida condo workers need help dealing with very stressful jobs that often include hurricane evacuation plans and caring for senior citizen residents.

[Schuler 2]: "Everybody in these buildings is supervising these workers. They're being watched on camera, they're being watched by condominium boards, they're being watched by contractors, you know, that employ 'em in the building.And then they've got every resident, you know, wantin''em to do this or that. And if they don't jump to it, they're under the gun. They need some changes."
