Workers at Continental Tires in Charolette, North Carolina are also knew they would be facing layoffs - but now the company is cutting them loose two months earlier then they originally said they would. The announcement came on Tuesday that 700 workers could expect pink slips by the end of July. Continental is planning to move some of those jobs to a non-union plant in Mount Vernon, Illinois and many to factories in Mexico and Brazil.
