EEOC seeks approval for multi-million suit against Ford, UAW

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is seeking approval from a federal judge in a multi-million dollar settlement involving Ford Motors and the United Auto Workers of America. The complaint was filed by the Commission on behalf of 11 Ford employees who say that they were discriminated against in apprenticeship programs at two Ohio plants. If approved Ford will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to the nearly 3,400 employees affected by the decision. The automaker will also pay $1.7 million dollars in lawyer's fees and court costs. Neither Ford or the union have admitted any wrongdoing.
