As outsourcing continues, India could be looking at a severe skilled worker shortage by 2010. India Trade Organization Nasscom reported that in four years India could be half a million workers short of what the country needs to keep up with projected growth. The country needs 1 million more IT workers in order to maintain its current market share. Currently 2.3 million Indians work in the countries Information technology industry, many employed by U.S. Corporations seeking to cut costs by outsourcing work.
