Striking workers for a utility company in Massachusetts have had contributions to benefits terminated. The elimination of healthcare contributions by Nstar affects more than 1900 employees represented by the Utility Workers Union of America, local 369. The cuts come less than three days after the strike was declared. The union says the strike is over safety issues. The company is trying to cut the size of work crews, while mandating excessive overtime. The company has said the workers are really striking over pay and benefits. Both sides say they will return to the bargaining table when the other is ready.
