Working people challenged at the polls

Working people, many of them lifelong voters, arrived at the polls yesterday to find their legitimacy challenged. All day, reports of voter intimidation and voter from across the country flowed into the offices of Common Cause, a organization set up to increase voter oversight. For example, in Racine, Wisconsin a working class and minority area, there were reports that anyone who arrived at the polls without a picture ID found themselves challenged. Professor Spencer Overton, a law professor and Common Cause board member, gave the example of a woman who was challenged in Ohio:

Overton added that high level voter fraud is uncommon. Most voter fraud comes from low-level workers who are paid a dollar per registration, so they make up fake names:
