Both the AFL-CIO and the Change To Win labor federations are urging an override of Bush’s veto of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. A vote to override the veto could come as soon as Thursday. The AFL-CIO says Bush’s veto – effectively freezing funding of the program – will result in a million kids from low-income families losing their health care under the program. Organized labor is urging an override of the veto, which would expand the program to insure more kids from low-income families.
