Verizon has broken the law to thwart workers' rights to form unions, according to a new report from American Rights At Work. The report, released Monday, documents how Verizon management has aggressively intimidated workers who support a union. Erin Johanson wrote the report.

[Johanson]: "In the case of Verizon Wireless, the NLRB found them guilty of violating workers' rights. They shut down a couple of plants where there were union organizing efforts underway and moved them to the south. And then recently in "Verizon Business", the NLRB issued two complaints charging the company with threatening that they're going to lay off workers if they form a union, spying on union activities and a number of other charges."

She says it shows exactly why workers need the Employee Free Choice Act labor law reform to truly safeguard the legal right to form unions.
