Ed McElroy is retiring as president of the American Federation of Teachers. He's decided not to run again. He will be replaced by Randi Weingarten, who currently heads New York City’s United Federation of Teachers. The AFT has 1.4 million members and is the second largest teachers' union in America, after the National Education Association.
