Economic Report: Americans Not Confident about Retirement - 09/15/08

Economic Report:

Americans aren’t confident about their retirement as the economy continues to take a downturn. According to the Principal Financial Well-Being Index, only 42 percent of current workers believe they will not have to worry about financial matters once they enter retirement. In contrast, 61 percent of current retirees feel that way. Only 53 percent of current workers believe they will have a retirement that is “at least as affluent as their parents’.
